Guest Information

Below is some important information for our guests to know and understand prior to coming to the course. Please take a look and familiarize yourself with these rules as you will be expected to abide by them while you are visiting.

Read COVID-19 Rules
Course Guidelines

All players must register at the Golf Course Starter’s Window at the 1st tee 10 minutes before their tee time.

For the benefit of all players, PLGC adheres to an 18-hole Pace of Play maximum of 4 hours and 10 minutes.

RCGA rules govern all play. Local rules are on the back of our printed scorecard.

Members and guests are expected to conduct themselves in a socially acceptable manner; swearing and boisterous conduct will not be tolerated. Intoxicated persons will not be permitted on club property.

All used smoking materials are a fire hazard - do not discard used smoking materials anywhere except in ashtrays provided outside club buildings.

Every person who uses the golf course does so at their own risk and is responsible for any damage they cause to person and property whether inadvertent, on purpose, or by accident.

Dress Code

We encourage all Members and guests to sport appropriate golf course attire while on the course which includes:

  • Men's golf shirts having sleeves and a styled collar (mock or blade collars are acceptable)

  • Ladies golf shirts

  • Golf footwear with soft spikes or laced athletic running shoes are acceptable

We discourage the following being worn on the course: tee shirts, sweatpants, tracksuits, workout wear, logos that could be considered offensive, cut-offs, jeans/denim, or any attire of a similar nature.

    Lightning Policy

The Pigeon Lake region can be at risk of severe storms.

Players will be warned of lightning in the area by the sounding of our horn. A prolonged blast of the horn signals suspension of play.

All players should leave their respective holes and proceed to shelter immediately.

When the horn sounds to suspend play, the first and tenth tees are closed immediately. Play on the golf course is suspended as well, and if the players choose to continue, they will be doing so at their own risk and against the advice of the Club.

Consequently, they are considered out of order, and after the all-clear signal is given by three short blasts, the players going back out shall get the right to their original position on the golf course at the time of play suspension.

    Pace of Play

We believe that a round of golf that takes too long to complete reduces the level of enjoyment for our Members and their guests.

Unless otherwise set out for specific events, the following reflects the maximum expected times to play 18 holes at PLGC:

    • Normal Tee Times – 4 hours and 10 minutes
    • Shotguns – 4 hours and 30 minutes

Exceeding these times is discouraged. Please be mindful of our pace of play expectations and keep up with the group in front of you at all times.

    Responsible Alcohol Service

PLGC is subject to the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Act, and the Regulations thereunder as defined by the Alberta Liquor Board.

We are committed to the full adherence to all liquor laws, and our staff is trained to comply with these laws and regulations.

Staff will not serve a patron to the point of intoxication. Should any Member or guest find themselves in a position of not being capable of driving home after a round or any of our social events, our staff would be happy to arrange for a taxi or designated driving service to drive you home safely.

No alcohol may be consumed on PLGC golf course that was not purchased and/or served by PLGC staff.
